County College of Morris Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies Department to Present a Variety of Shows in December
After months of rehearsing, County College of Morris (CCM) students from the Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies Department will be presenting various shows in December that highlight their skills and talents from dancing and singing, to music and acting.
The Winter Music Concert on Friday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. is a musical delight. The CCM Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble bring the sounds of the season to life! Conductors include Chamber Choir Director Professor Marielaine Mammon and Wind Ensemble Directors, Professor Bill Briggs and Professor Rich Barrieres. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held at the Dragonetti Auditorium in the Student Community Center.
The dramatic play based on the classic and treasured movie “Miracle on 34th Street,” runs from December 12 through December 14, at 7:30 p.m. with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Directed by Professor Marielaine Mammon, the beloved tale gives children young and old a chance to experience the joy and magic of believing. The performances will be held at the Dragonetti Auditorium with general admission seating. Tickets are $15 and $10 for CCM students, alumni, children under 12 and seniors 62 and older. New and exciting works created by faculty, students and guest artists in the Dance Program will be featured in the “Dance Theatre First Look” workshop on Monday, December 16, and Tuesday, December 17, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature a wide variety of contemporary dance styles including a percussive reimagining of Nutcracker choreography, solo and group works and musical theatre dance. Choreographers include Professor Terrance Duncan, Professor Kristin Flynn, Professor Trayer Run-Kowzun, Professor Colleen McArdle, Guest Repertory Experience Choreographer David Parker and CCM Dance majors. Admission is free and the dance performances will be held at the Music Technology Center Performance Lab.
County College of Morris is located at 214 Center Grove Road in Randolph. Attendees are asked to park in Lots 6 and 7.
