The Community is Invited to a Reception Planned for Thursday, April 11
Stunning artwork from students in the Spring 2024 Visual Arts and Animation Portfolio class is currently on display at CCM. The exhibition will be on display through Wednesday, April 17, in the CCM Art & Design Gallery. In addition, a reception that is free and open to the public will be held on Thursday, April 11, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The exhibit showcases the best artwork that students have created during their studies at CCM as part of the Visual Arts and Animation programs. In total, there will be around 30 creative works of art on display for visitors to admire.
During the reception on Thursday, April 11, students will present portfolios of their work in the form of PowerPoint presentations, portfolio books, websites and business cards. The students will also provide written support of their work in the form of resumes, biographies, artist statements and more. Faculty members and guest professionals will assess the portfolios and provide feedback to students during the reception.
“This exhibit is one of my favorites each year, as it shines a light on aspiring artists who have worked so hard to develop their talents over the past two years,” said Todd L. W. Doney, associate professor in CCM’s Art and Humanities Department. “The reception showcases what students have learned in the Portfolio classes offered at CCM, which are intended to help students prepare strong portfolios as they embark on their professional journeys.”
The CCM Art & Design Gallery is located in the Sherman H. Masten Learning Resource Center on the college’s campus, 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph. Gallery hours are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is available in Lot 6.
