TEEN ARTS
2023
PERFORMING ARTS
The Teen Arts Festival aims to provide the opportunity to celebrate uniquely talented students from your school. In keeping with this year’s theme “Art and Identity”, we welcome performances of non-traditional descriptions in our critiqued events categories and can include group or solo performance submissions of dance, instrumental music, vocal music, and dramatic or musical theatre. We also welcome performances outside of traditional Classical or Broadway styles and can include genres such as arts from other cultures, contemporary, fusion, and other non-traditional music, dance, and theatre forms.
Please complete and submit the appropriate Performing Art Submission Form located below heading to the left no later than May 3, 2023 whether your students will be submitting work or just attending this celebration of our teens.
The registration must be sent by an official representative from the participating school including individual instructors of students, but not by the students themselves.
Student may submit one piece to multiple categories i.e. visual, performing, dance, creative writing, etc.
All work must be suitable for public display.
Submission Criteria
We will be accepting registration in critiqued categories of Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Musical Theatre, Dramatic Theatre, and Dance. The submissions can be either solo or group but must be received by Teen Arts through the registration procedure in order to be scheduled.
Each submission will be assigned a time on the festival day where students can perform live. Immediately after, there will be a verbal critique from the Teen Arts mentors. The written critique will be mailed to the participating school after the festival, along with ranking for referral to the state level.
