A Dynamic Lineup of Free Live Entertainment at CCM this Spring
Five-Time Emmy Winner Matt Rifino Headlines Music and Dance Series
The Marielaine Mammon School of Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies at County College of Morris (CCM) presents a wide range of dynamic live performances this spring, offering the public multiple opportunities to experience the exceptional music and dance talents of CCM, at no cost.
Kicking off the series is five-time Emmy-winning mixing engineer Matt Rifino, who will present a free “Tech Talk” on Tuesday, February 24, at 12:30 p.m., in the Marielaine Mammon Black Box Theatre in the Music Technology Center, Room 105. From four years on staff at Avatar Studios (The Power Station) to becoming the Broadcast Music Mixer for NBC’s Today show, Rifino has mixed more than 4,000 performances by nearly 1,500 artists, including Adele, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac and Taylor Swift. He will share insights from producing live broadcasts seen by millions, along with highlights from his career in studio recording and his current work at Barbershop Studios in Lake Hopatcong.
Additional free performances offered this spring include:
- “Spotlight on Music” featuring performances by CCM faculty and students, on Thursday, March 26, and Tuesday, April 21, at 12:30 p.m.
- The “Spring Music Concert,” showcasing the CCM Chamber Choir, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble, on Friday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m.
- The “Dance Theatre Showcase,” featuring original choreography and dynamic performances by CCM students, on Friday, May 1, at 12:30 p.m.
All of these performances will take place in Dragonetti Auditorium.
Rounding out the season is the “Electronic Music Showcase,” featuring innovative student work in music production and sound design, on Tuesday, May 5, at 12:30 p.m., in the Marielaine Mammon Black Box Theatre.
Mark your calendar and visit CCM to experience the energy of live entertainment this spring. All events are held at County College of Morris, 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph. The Marielaine Mammon School of Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies offers associate degree programs in dance, the liberal arts and sciences with a humanities/music option, music technology with a specialization in electronic music or music recording, and music theatre. The curriculum provides a foundation for career pathways as well as the requirements needed to transfer and continue studying toward a bachelor’s degree at a four-year institution.
