Getting Started
Veterans: Admission to CCM
In order to use your veteran educational benefits for credit courses at CCM, you must first be admitted to the college as a matriculated (degree-seeking) student in an approved program of study.
CCM’s application is online or download a PDF version here.
There is a non-refundable application fee of $30.00 due when the application is submitted. You may also file an application in person in the Admissions Office which is located in the Student Community Center (SCC 212). The phone number is 973-328-5100.
If you are interested in non-credit programs for veterans through the Center for Workforce Development, you do not need to submit an application for admissions to the college.
Pathways for Veterans
New Students
- Complete a CCM application.
- Submit an official high school transcript or GED scores.
- Take the Accuplacer placement test after receiving acceptance letter.
Transfer Students
- Complete a CCM application.
- Submit an official college transcript from all colleges attended.
- Take the Accuplacer placement test, if required (determined in letter of acceptance).
Non-credit Workforce Development Students
- NJMEP Veterans’ Grant – training in Advanced Manufacturing for veterans and their families for free or at a reduced cost.
- VA Benefits for Workforce Development’s Non-Credit Certificate Programs – enroll in approved non-credit certificate programs at CCM at a reduced cost or no cost.
- Pre-Apprenticeship Boot Camp – train in the basics of machining: Shop Basics, Advanced Manufacturing Core, CAM Fundamentals, NIMS Certification
Military Experience
Credit for military experience may be applicable.The VA requires you to submit a copy of your military transcript to determine if transfer credits apply. Contact the Office of Records and Registration at 973-328-5200 for more information.
Apply for VA Educational Benefits
The Department of Veterans Affairs requires each applicant for VA educational benefits to be formally accepted to an approved curriculum/program of study before initial certification.
Appropriate applications may be obtained from The Academic Success Center (TASC) located in Cohen Hall – CH203. Any questions, you can contact 973-328-5530 or email tasc@ccm.edu. Veterans are encouraged to utilize the online application.
Veterans may choose to apply for VA educational benefits with the Veteran’s Affairs Representative, Dr. Pamela Marcenaro, Assistant Vice President – Enrollment Management. The representative will not be able to advise applicants about their specific eligibility for VA benefits. The final determination of eligibility is made by the Education Division of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Registering for Courses
Once you have been admitted to CCM you will be invited to a New Student Enrollment Session. Sessions are offered in December for Spring enrollment and from May-August for Summer and Fall enrollment. For more information please contact the Office of Office of Academic Advisement at 973-328-5168. The office is located in the Student Community Center, Room 118A.
Students pursuing a degree-granting program are required to secure advisement clearance prior to registering for courses. You can find your advisor through the Office of Academic Advisement. Students wanting to use their Veteran Benefits are encouraged to register well in advance of the start of the semester to allow time for the certification process.
After you have met with your Faculty Advisor you will be ready to use Titans Direct to complete your semester enrollment.
While non-matriculated students are not required to meet with a faculty advisor to register for classes they are encouraged to do so.
