We are committed to provide high quality education to learners who want to extend their academic careers, boost their workforce knowledge and skills sets, and/or foster personal growth in a fully online or blended learning environment.
Model Courses:
Model courses are designed by a faculty course developer in partnership with an instructional designer. There is a lot of flexibility in terms of subject matter content presentation and on activities/assessments (depending on the department). There are course organizational restrictions. The course set up (including the course menu) cannot be revised. The course organization is designed with student experience in mind, so there is consistency as they go from Virtual Campus course to Virtual Campus course.
Please refer to the Model Course Instructions for Faculty document as you are ready to course copy and set up your model course. Please do not make any changes to the model course. All changes are done in your own course after the course copy is completed.
Any changes to the sample activities and/or assessments must be documented and reported to the academic department chairperson. Please contact your department chair to discuss how the changes should be reported. If the department is using the Model Course Activities/Assessment Change Form through the Virtual Campus, please access it via the provided resource above.
Required Training:
Any faculty interested in teaching distance education (online or hybrid) courses, must complete the required training. Faculty may choose to complete the Distance Education Professional Learning Series (DEPLS) or the Quality Matters Teaching Online Certificate (QMTOC). Please see below for additional information.
