The career possibilities with a Business degree are endless with positions in management, accounting, marketing, finance, banking, insurance, sales and international business, to name a few. Our Business Administration Program at County College of Morris is the first step for a business career.
The program is designed to meet the needs of students who wish to earn a baccalaureate degree in business upon completing two additional years at a four-year institution. The curriculum prepares students for upper college-level specializations in finance, management, accounting and marketing.
Curriculum
The business administration program at CCM features a 29-credit business core with an Introduction to Business course and additional courses in Accounting, Management, Information Systems and Marketing, as well as a multitude of electives. See below to download the checksheet
Special required projects include:
- Use “Stock Trak,” a stock market simulation software, to learn about investing in a fun and competitive way
- Create a marketing plan and present it to the community at the annual “Marketing Showcase”
Upon graduating from CCM you can launch your career and also transfer to a four-year university and take upper college-level specializations such as finance, management, accounting or marketing to earn your bachelor’s degree!

Transfer Opportunities
Completion of the associate degree program at CCM enables you to participate in the state-wide Transfer Agreement at New Jersey state colleges and universities.
You can enroll as a junior and receive waiver of the general education requirement.

The department sponsors two clubs for students: YEA, the Young Entrepreneurs Association and ABG, Alpha Beta Gamma the business honor society. These organizations provide our students with leadership and networking opportunities. Students from these clubs have participated in the Rutgers Business Case competition for community colleges having placed in the Top 3.

Earning an associate degree in business administration is a powerful investment that is a springboard to both increased earnings and job satisfaction. But what is the upfront cost and how do you afford it? There’s good news: Money is available to help you pay for school! Our Financial Aid staff can provide lots of information about the process of finding funds to help pay for your CCM education.

Topics include foundations of business and economic systems, management and leadership styles, entrepreneurship, motivational theory and techniques, personnel and production management, accounting, information systems, business law, union/management relations and global issues.
Principles of Accounting I and II – Financial and Managerial Accounting
Learn about processing accounting information assets and liabilities, accounting theory for corporations and financial statement analysis. Learn how to assist internal management and deals with cost-volume-profit analysis, cost systems, budgeting and performance evaluation.
Principles of Marketing
Gain an overview of the field of marketing in areas of consumer behavior, marketing management and channels of distribution with an emphasis on the growth of the marketing concept.
