What You Will Learn
Know you want to go into electronics but aren’t sure what area to go into?
This is the perfect program to help you figure that out!
If you are working in the field of electronics or planning to enter the electronics field, consider enrolling in one of the following specialized programs:
- Basic Electronics
- Advanced Electronics
- Digital Technology
Each provides a balance of theory and hands-on experience to improve your technical skills in these innovative fields and propel your career forward!
You can complete the certificate within three semesters and the courses are fully transfer to and “stackable” within the associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology program at CCM.
Curriculum
The coursework is a maximum of 13-credits with 3-5 classes in Circuit Analysis, Circuit Measurement, Industrial Electronics, Computer Science, Digital Principles, Microprocessors and Routing (CISCO) depending upon your chosen pathway in one of the three routes — Basic or Advanced Electronics or Digital Technology.
Why Study Electronics at CCM?
- CCM faculty have extensive industrial experience and as well as many years of teaching experience.
- Laboratories on campus are equipped with the latest test equipment and industrial machines found in industry.
- Computer-based simulation is used to reinforce the theory taught in class.
- Small class sizes enable individual attention from faculty with industry experience who deliver a real-world understanding of the field.
- Team based learning provide the perfect opportunity to successfully solve real-world problems.
- This program is available through on-campus learning between lectures and laboratory for a better experience within the trade.
- Augment your current profession with new skills or begin a new career in a field such as electronics or digital technology.
Paying for Your Electronics Certificate
Earning certificate of achievement from CCM is a powerful investment that is a springboard to both increased earnings and job satisfaction. But what is the upfront cost and how do you afford it?
There’s good news: Money is available to help you pay for school! Our Financial Aid staff can provide lots of information about the process of finding funds to help pay for your CCM education.
Featured Courses
Circuit Analysis DC/AC
Learn both DC and AC circuit theory, including Ohm’s and Kirchoff’s laws for analysis of series and parallel circuits. Computer circuit simulation of series-parallel, ladder and bridge networks in both DC and AC are analyzed. Resonance and frequency response are included along with some discussion of AC power and transformers. Lab experiments support the theory and obtain measurement skills.
Digital Principles
Develop the fundamentals of the binary system. Circuit implementation from Boolean functions and map minimization. Course includes study of combinational logic, sequential logic circuits, flip-flops, counters and shift register. Lab enables application of theory to practical digital circuits.
Active Circuit Design
Learn analysis and design of solid-state amplifiers using bipolar and field effect transistors. Topics include frequency response using Bode plots and feedback analysis as applied to operational amplifiers and oscillators. Lab verification includes transistors, amplifiers, power amplifiers, IC operational amplifiers and oscillators.
