Annual Backpack Giveaway Returns to CCM to Help Morris County Families Prepare for the New School Year
County College of Morris and Table of Hope Continue Their Longstanding Community Partnership
RANDOLPH, NJ: County College of Morris (CCM) is once again partnering with Table of Hope to help Morris County students start the school year prepared for success. Now in its sixth year, the annual Backpack Giveaway will provide backpacks filled with essential school supplies and local produce to students for the upcoming academic year. The community-driven event will take place on Friday, August 28, from 1-2:30 p.m., in Parking Lot 1 at CCM, 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph.
The Backpack Giveaway is open to Morris County residents facing financial hardship. Families are encouraged to pre-register at https://tableofhopenj.org/backpack-registration. Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. To help ensure a safe and efficient distribution, participants must remain in their vehicles throughout the event. Walk-up distribution will not be available.
The Backpack Giveaway has become a valued tradition that reflects the shared commitment of CCM, Table of Hope and numerous community partners to support local families. Beyond the annual backpack distribution, CCM also partners with Table of Hope each November to host a Thanksgiving food distribution that provides holiday meals to hundreds of Morris County families.
“At County College of Morris, we are proud to be the community’s college, and that means showing up for our neighbors in meaningful ways,” said Dr. Anthony J. Iacono, president of CCM. “Our partnership with Table of Hope, and the multiple organizations volunteering that day, demonstrates what can be accomplished when all of us unite around a common purpose. Together, we are helping children begin the school year with the supplies they need and providing valuable resources to our Morris County families.”
This initiative is made possible through the dedication of Table of Hope, state and local leaders, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Alstede Farms, CCM employees, corporate sponsors, community organizations and an outstanding team of volunteers, including CCM student athletes and student leaders.
Founded in 2011, Table of Hope is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Morris County families by addressing essential needs through programs focused on food security, educational support and community engagement.
