Throughout the semester the Biology and Chemistry faculty will be holding seven workshops either face-to-face or on Zoom. In-person sessions will not be recorded. Remote Zoom sessions will be recorded for those unable to attend. Recordings will be posted within 48 hours to the Tutoring Center Blackboard Shell under the Science Resources on the left-hand panel. Students registered in “courses for this workshop” are welcome to attend these sessions.
In addition, students are welcome to attend faculty and peer one-on-one tutoring appointments, open lab, and self-study. Students are permitted to make up to two one-on-one tutoring appointments a day (back-to-back are allowed), up to three 25-minute appointments each week. Students can attend the mid-semester and end of semester Open Labs to study dissected specimens to prepare for laboratory practical examinations. Students can also make an appointment as “self-study” to access laboratory resources in the Tutoring Center: Science (DH 156), including anatomical models, bones, compound light microscope, and histological slides. A resource library of past workshop/focus session recordings are available in the Blackboard Tutoring Center: Math, Writing, & Science Center Shell. In order to attend these sessions, students will need to schedule an appointment on the TutorTrac scheduling system at https://tutortrac. ccm.edu; please use your CCM student credentials to sign in. Upon signing in, select “Search Availability” under Student Options on the left-hand side of the screen. Next, select “Science Center” and then select the course and date range. Please note the title of the session may not appear when scheduling an appointment, please make sure you select the appropriate date and time for the session you would like to attend. Appointments can be made up to 6 days in advance. Please make your appointment no later than 24 hours before the day of session. In-person sessions will take place during the day/time specified below on campus. Students that scheduled an appointment for a remote Zoom workshop will receive an email on the day of the session with information on how to join the Zoom session.
