County College of Morris (CCM) is proud to announce that Director of Nursing Eleni Pellazgu, PhD, DNP, APN, FNP-C, NEA-BC, CNE, has been named a “2025 Health Care Heroes Honoree” by NJBIZ in the Education Hero category. This prestigious recognition celebrates individuals and organizations that are making a significant impact on the quality of health care in New Jersey through excellence, innovation and dedication.
Pellazgu has been recognized for her outstanding contributions in health education, inspiring the next generation of health care professionals. Her leadership in CCM’s nursing department in the School of Health Professions and Natural Sciences helps prepare nurses for today, while respecting the history and traditions of the field. More than 5,000 students have graduated from the nursing program at CCM and are well prepared for high-paying employment in medical-surgical, critical care, emergency care, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatry and other specialized fields. In addition, Pellazgu serves as a nurse practitioner for Atlantic Health.

It celebrates not just the care we provide, but the knowledge we pass on to the students. The honorees across ten categories will be celebrated during an in-person awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, New Jersey. The Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing at CCM ranks in the Top 10% of associate degree nursing programs in the nation, according to College Factual. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the National Council for Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX®-RN); the last two cohorts achieved 100% on their first attempt.
