CCM President Dr. Anthony J. Iacono Recognized as the #1 Community College Leader in New Jersey by BINJE
County College of Morris (CCM) proudly announces that its President, Dr. Anthony J. Iacono, has been named the #1 Community College Leader in New Jersey by Business in New Jersey…everyday (BINJE) as part of BINJE’s first Best: Higher Education Leaders 2026. BINJE, a print and digital media platform covering business and politics in New Jersey, curated the list as a review of the academic year that best reflects the people, programs and priorities shaping higher education.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized by BINJE as the top community college leader in the state,” said Iacono. “It is truly a reflection of the hundreds of talented individuals who pour themselves into CCM each day. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead and work alongside them to continue fulfilling our mission of changing lives and strengthening communities. It is also a privilege to serve alongside so many exceptional community college leaders in New Jersey.”
Dr. Iacono earned the distinction of top community college president in the state from BINJE for his dedication to student success, strengthening our local and state economy and advancing innovative programs in high-demand fields. For example, CCM was recently named one of only two community colleges selected for New Jersey’s first U.S. Department of Labor–Registered Data Scientist/AI Apprenticeship, a partnership with the New Jersey AI Hub in Princeton.
Under Dr. Iacono’s leadership, CCM has undergone tremendous expansion, including an Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center and the newly opened Center for Entrepreneurship & Culinary Science (CECS). The CECS represents a groundbreaking collaboration between the college, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce and businesses, and is designed to fuel innovative learning and economic opportunities for students, entrepreneurs and the broader community. The college is also constructing an 80,000 square-foot Center for Health Professions, expanding CCM’s healthcare offerings to include in-demand fields like Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting, while also expanding its existing programs such as Nursing, Radiography and Respiratory Therapy.
CCM proudly graduates approximately 1,000 students each year and achieves one of the highest graduation and transfer rates among New Jersey’s community colleges. Under Dr. Iacono, the college has proved to be a powerful economic engine, generating $586.1 million in added income for the region in fiscal year 2022-23.
Dr. Iacono has been President of CCM since 2016, earning recognition from various publications including New Jersey Business Magazine, NJBIZ and ROI-NJ. To learn more about CCM, visit https://www.ccm.edu/.
