Morristown H.S. Seniors Complete AIMTec Program at CCM
Strengthening New Jersey’s Manufacturing Workforce
CCM, in partnership with Morristown High School, proudly celebrated the completion of the second cohort of students from the Advanced Integrated Manufacturing Technologies (AIMTec) program. The innovative program provides high school seniors with a direct pathway into advanced manufacturing careers and addresses the growing demand for skilled workers in New Jersey’s manufacturing sector.
This year, 15 students successfully completed the year-long program, which combines classroom instruction, hands-on technical training and industry-recognized certifications. Through coursework delivered at CCM’s state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center, students developed skills in machining, CNC operation and programming, robotics and other advanced manufacturing technologies while gaining valuable professional and workplace readiness experience. Prior to completion, each student was eligible to choose a specialized elective in pneumatics, hydraulics or welding.
All students earned at least six industry-recognized certifications and upon graduation from high school are now prepared for enrollment in an associate degree program at CCM for further career training in engineering.
The graduates are also equipped with the skills to directly enter the workforce, as eight manufacturing companies have already visited CCM to conduct first-round interviews for job placement. More than 30 second-round interviews have already been scheduled, creating promising opportunities for students to launch their careers this summer.
“The success of AIMTec continues to show what is possible when partners create meaningful career pathways together,” said Patrick Enright, Senior Vice President, Academic Affairs, Workforce Development and Student Success at CCM. “In just two years, we have watched dozens of students from Morristown High School gain confidence, develop highly sought-after technical skills and connect directly with employers who are eager to hire the next generation of manufacturing professionals. The growing number of employment opportunities available to our students is a testament to both their hard work and the strength of our partnerships.”
CCM and Morristown High School will continue the AIMTec partnership this fall as a new cohort of students begin the program, further expanding opportunities for the next generation to pursue rewarding careers in advanced manufacturing.
“As we enter our second year of partnership, we are excited by the positive response from our students and are proud to see them fully engage in the experience from start to finish,” said Sophia Kenny, Director of Guidance & Program Development at Morristown High School. “Our students have embraced the opportunity to explore new possibilities and gain valuable exposure to post–high school pathways. The professors have been nothing short of amazing, meeting students where they are, recognizing their strengths and helping them discover untapped potential they may not have known they possessed. We look forward to continuing this partnership, welcoming future cohorts and creating even more meaningful and enjoyable experiences together.”
During the graduation ceremony, college and school officials thanked the families, faculty, staff and employer partners whose support helped make the program possible. Graduates were encouraged to continue learning, growing and embracing new opportunities as they move into the next phase of their educational and professional journeys.
