New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education Margo Chaly visited County College of Morris
New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education Margo Chaly visited County College of Morris (CCM) on Thursday, October 29, as part of her college and university tour across New Jersey. Hosted by CCM President Dr. Anthony Iacono and accompanied by Senator Anthony Bucco, Secretary Chaly met with students and employees and toured the campus.
The visit showcased CCM’s commitment to ensuring students have the education, skills, and credentials needed to lead productive lives and succeed in today’s workforce. Through partnerships with area employers, CCM connects classroom learning with real-world industry experiences.
The campus tour highlighted academic and workforce development programs, demonstrating how CCM integrates career-focused training across its curriculum. Beyond degrees, CCM offers certificates that help students enter the workforce sooner or begin working in their field while continuing their education. Employers gain access to emerging talent, while students build experience, earn income, develop their skills, and advance their careers.
Secretary Chaly also received a sneak peek of CCM’s new Center for Cybersecurity, funded primarily through Congressional Directed Spending secured by Senator Cory Booker. The tour also offered a firsthand look at how CCM connects education, workforce preparation, and industry partnerships to meet the changing needs of students and employers.
It was an honor to host Secretary Chaly at County College of Morris, where changing lives and strengthening communities is an institutional priority.
