The Promethean is the County College of Morris’ arts and literary publication. This publication serves as an annual showcase for the best visual arts and literary materials created by students. Over it’s forty-plus years, it has consistently won professional design awards at the regional, national and international level. It is distributed each spring to the College community.
As an extension of the graphic design curriculum, it offers a select group of advanced design students the opportunity to create a real-life design project, for an actual client, under real-time considerations. Student designers review and select all materials for publication, develop a theme and create the final product under the supervision of an advisor with extensive publishing experience. Students gain experience in concept development, working in a group and similar skills of value to employers.
All students currently enrolled at CCM are encouraged to submit materials for consideration year-round. Materials submitted after the end of October will be held for consideration for the following year’s edition. See the following page for submission guidelines.
