Professor Anna Drapczynski is a Certified Public Accountant with more than a decade of experience in corporate finance, public accounting, and entrepreneurship. She began her career in the assurance practice at PwC, then moved to Quest Diagnostics, where she led risk-based audit engagements before transitioning into financial planning and analysis. At BASF Corporation, she managed North American provisions within a multibillion-euro global portfolio, provided technical accounting guidance to senior executives and General Counsel, and supervised finance staff across two continents. She later served as Controller and CFO of a New Jersey catering company, where she oversaw full-cycle accounting, HR, and IT while leading the organization’s conversion to accrual accounting.

What drew her out of “Corporate America” was the part of the work she had always enjoyed most: helping people make numbers make sense! In 2020, she founded Modern Insights Accounting LLC with the goal of demystifying finances for small business owners so they could make confident decisions and grow. She continues to serve a portfolio of individual and small business clients with bookkeeping, tax planning, and strategic financial advisory services, and is a QuickBooks Online Advanced Certified ProAdvisor and a member of the AICPA and the New Jersey Society of CPAs.

She entered the classroom in 2023 where she directed a Career and Technical Education program at the high school level in culinary arts and hospitality administration and built a course portfolio spanning accounting, data analytics, hospitality business, personal finance, and IB Business Management. Her instructional work centers on the intersection of business education and analytics, with an emphasis on Excel-based financial modeling, business intelligence tools, and the ethical integration of generative AI into business coursework. She holds both her graduate and undergraduate degrees from Babson College, where she graduated summa cum laude.

Outside the classroom, Professor Drapczynski is a mom to two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and remains active in the New Jersey small business community through her accounting practice.
