The Internship Program at CCM

CCM student interns bring cutting-edge skills from the classroom, provide fresh perspectives and energy, and promote current employee engagement and professional development. Current employees can be freed up to accomplish more complex tasks that require higher-level expertise, and develop leadership and mentoring skills; all leading to a more fulfilling work environment.
An internship program is also a practical way to recruit new talent for your organization. A cost-effective approach to evaluating potential employees with no long-term commitment, an internship program could be the source of your next great employee!

Please post the job to our JobConnect system. See JobConnect link above. Under the Posting Information section, in the Position Type field, choose INTERNSHIP.
Or contact a CCM Placement Coordinator:
- Suzanne Maida – Communication & Media, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Fire Science, Social Sciences, Engineering, Law/Politics, Natural Sciences.
- Rebecca Uong – Business, Culinary Arts, Design & Visual Arts, Hospitality Management, Information Technology/Computers/Digital Media, Landscape & Horticulture, Mathematics, Music Recording.

There should be a balance between learning and contributing. The Career Services staff or a faculty intern supervisor can work with an employer to ensure that an internship opportunity is mutually beneficial.
- The position should provide a quality experience in which learning goals can be identified, achieved and measured.
- There is supervision by a professional with expertise in the field.
- There are resources, equipment, and facilities provided by the employer that support learning objectives/goals.
An experience in which an intern is receiving college credit requires:
- A supervisor to be assigned to act as the student’s mentor and liaison between the employer and the internship faculty supervisor to provide feedback on the intern’s professional development and accomplishment of learning goals.
- A minimum number of hours worked over an academic term based on the number of credits assigned.
On-Campus Recruiting
A recruitment area is available by reservation to direct-hire employers for recruiting activities. Located between the student cafeteria and veteran’s lounge in the academic buildings, this space is reserved by one employer per day. A table and chairs, as well as online promotional advertising, are provided. This space is most useful for employers looking to fill general, seasonal, or multiple, positions.
This space books up quickly, so reserving in advance is recommended. For more information or to reserve the space, please contact Sheila PraSisto, 973-328-5245.
Federal Work Study Community Service Program
The Federal Work Study Community Service Program is a federally-funded program through which college students work for nonprofit and public agencies. The County College of Morris reimburses the participating agency for 75% of the student’s gross wages to a maximum of nineteen and one-half (19.5) hours per week.
Contact Rosemary Grant, Associate Director, Career Services, for more information.
