Brochure Now Available Online on College’s Website – Posted 3/3/2015

The Corporate and Community Programs (CCP) division at County College of Morris (CCM) has opened registration for this summer’s very popular College for Kids and Teens program. The program brochure is now available online at www.ccm.edu/CFK and includes instructions for registration, as well as complete summer schedules.

Programs are available for children from kindergarten through high school.

This year, classes will begin on Monday, June 29, and run for five weeks ending July 31. The first week will run as an extended day Monday thru Thursday program since the college is closed on July 3 in celebration of Independence Day. The remaining four weeks will run Monday thru Friday and have both pre-care and after-care options available. Legos, code breakers, fashion sewing, Minecraft and music recording are just a few of the returning programs this year! Check to see if your child’s favorite is back!

Of course, there also are revamped and new activities to explore this summer from CCM vendors such as Black Rocket, Sciensational, Super Science and others. New this year is expanded programming for children’s health and fitness. Also being offered are classes by Kids In Motion, Teaching Yoga, Zumba and Incredible Athletes. Taken in combination with some healthy cooking classes, your children will be directed along a lifelong path of healthy eating and activity.

In addition to existing arts programs, several new courses in scrapbooking, drawing horses, anime and cartooning have been added. For the budding journalist, there is the CFK Newsroom course exploring the news media and culminating in creating their own stories.

Concerned about your child’s ability to advance through the PARCC exams successfully? Consider how they can learn to touch type through fun, age-appropriate activities. Learning how to keyboard is a skill that will help them not just on computerized exams, but throughout their educational and professional lives.

For teens, we are again offering CCM’s very popular SAT preparation course that has assisted attendees in increasing their scores by as much as 20 percent.

This year is shaping up to be a fun, exciting, educational experience for CCM campers as a result of an increasing variety of programs for an expanded age range of children. Don’t miss out on the most popular classes as they fill up fast! Register early. Remember, to use your child’s social security number not your own!
