Adjunct Professor’s Artwork Featured in Red Bank Exhibit

Karin Lowney-Seed’s Paintings Shown at The Oyster Point Hotel – Posted 11/4/15

Karin Lowney-Seed, adjunct professor of fine arts at County College of Morris (CCM), will have her artwork featured in a two-artist exhibition beginning this month at The Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank.

The exhibit, featuring works in oil and acrylic by Lowney-Seed, of Sparta, and Myke Karlowski, takes place November 4 through January 1. The Oyster Point Hotel is located at 146 Boardman Place, Red Bank.

Lowney-Seed’s art is recognized as having a sharp and direct style, featuring visual balance in a bold manner. Her work is featured along with that of Karlowski, a Red Bank native who uses fundamental visual concepts in his work.

“I’m thrilled to have my work featured in this exhibit,” Lowney-Seed said. “The Oyster Point Hotel gallery is a wonderful venue and I’m happy to be able to share it with an artist the caliber of Myke Karlowski.”

Earlier this year, Lowney-Seed’s painting “Mind the Gap” received a third-place award in the Artexpo New York 2015 Poster Challenge after being juried as a finalist. She holds an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her work has been part of exhibitions including The Brooklyn Museum, The Philadelphia Art Museum and The Art Institute of Chicago, among others.

In addition to teaching Art History II and Contemporary Art History at CCM, Lowney-Seed also owns MyInterior, a high-end interior design firm located in Sparta, where she resides.
