County College of Morris (CCM) will host a special networking breakfast event called Lion’s Den on Friday, November 18, where three nonprofit presenters will have the opportunity to pitch their grant project to several local funders.
The presenters will give a two- to five-minute pitch about their project and each funder then will offer constructive feedback.
The event begins at 8 a.m. in the Davidson Rooms, Student Community Center, on CCM’s Randolph campus, 214 Center Grove Road.
Participating in the event as presenters will be Marysue DePaola, development director at Mayo Performing Arts Center; Bonnie Gannon, director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Morristown Memorial Health Foundation; and Julia Somers, executive director of the New Jersey Highlands Coalition. The funders participating in the program consist of William V. Engel, president of The Hyde and Watson Foundation; Christine DiCesare, board member of Impact 100; and Tom Werder, executive director at Morris Arts.
“Prepare to be at the edge of your seat as nonprofit leaders present their fundraising ideas to funders for instant feedback,” says Lauren Swern, an adjunct instructor who teaches a course in grant writing at CCM.
The event, which will conclude at 9:30 a.m., includes continental breakfast and a networking period prior to the panel discussion.
