The gift will be used to expand and upgrade the Center for Cyber Security at CCM, which serves the community by educating future cyber security professionals to meet workforce demand and preparing individuals to be better cyber citizens. The funding will be utilized to upgrade the center’s facilities and technology, including the purchase of new computers, security and forensic software, routers, servers and other related equipment. As part of the gift, a suite within the Center for Cyber Security also will be named after the bank.

“We are extremely grateful to Investors Bank for supporting our efforts in the area of cyber security and for providing a means for us to further build upon our success in this area,” said CCM President Anthony J. Iacono. “Our goal is to serve as the cyber security training and informational resource for the region and this gift helps funds that vision.”

“We are honored that the Investors Foundation grant will assist the County College of Morris with the upgrading and expansion of its Center for Cyber Security,” said Investors Bank Chairman and CEO Kevin Cummings. “Our economy is driven by digital technologies, and we all need to know the best practices for using, storing and securing computer networks and mobile devices. We are pleased that we can help CCM continue to serve as the region’s resource for the important area of cyber security.”

The $125,000 gift was presented to CCM as part of its “Forward” campaign, which the college has launched in conjunction with its 50th anniversary. To date, more than $1.8 million has been donated to the campaign.

Over the last several years, CCM has become a leader in the area of cyber security. In 2017, CCM became the only community college in New Jersey to be named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security. To obtain the designation, CCM needed to demonstrate that its cyber security curriculum is aligned with national standards, that the college contributes to providing a pipeline of professionals who can assist with protecting against cyberattacks, and that it is a resource for the community in the area of information security.

Since 2003, the college has been a certifying institution for the NSA and Department of Homeland Security Initiative for Education and Training Program for Information Assurance. The college’s Certificate of Achievement in Information Security is mapped to those standards. In addition, CCM offers an Associate in Applied Science in Information Technology with tracks in digital forensics and information security. Also offered is an Associate in Science in Criminal Justice with a specialization in computer forensics.
