Exploring career options in the criminal justice, justice studies or community services fields? This free event brings together more than 30 employers and agencies at the federal, state and local levels of law enforcement, public safety, emergency management, legal and more, to provide interactive exhibits and career insights.
According to 2026 labor market data from JobsEQ®, approximately 4,500 people in Morris County work in occupations related to criminal justice and police science, with a projected need of over 3,200 newly trained workers over the next seven years. Furthermore, there is a projected need of nearly 46,000 newly trained workers across the state of New Jersey over the next seven years.
Prospective students seeking a college education can learn about CCM’s associate degrees & certificate of achievements in criminal justice, justice studies, legal studies and emergency services and how to apply for admission at CCM.
Students attending the career fair should register in advance at ccm.edu/events/criminal-justice-career-fair-2/. Any student participating independently and not with a school group, be sure to check that option so a Letter of Excuse from School can be provided.
“Career fairs give students, job seekers and career changers the chance to talk directly with professionals who know their fields and find out what employers are looking for,” said Dr. Maureen Kazaba, professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at CCM. “You don’t have to be a criminal justice major to benefit. There are many career paths to explore, and meeting employers in person can also help students discover the education needed for opportunities they may not have considered.”
Attendees are welcome to bring copies of their resume as they introduce themselves to the organizations planning to participate, including the United States Secret Service, New Jersey Army National Guard, New Jersey Courts Morris and Sussex Vicinage, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Morris County Office of Temporary Assistance, Morris County Communications Center, Rutgers University, New Jersey Institute of Technology Department of Public Safety, Navigating Hope and more.
Police departments from local towns, including Butler, Chester, Denville, Dover, Hanover, Madison, Morris Plains, Morristown, Parsippany-Troy Hills, Rockaway and Wharton, along with the New Jersey State Police and New York Police Department Recruitment Section, are also among the participants.
CCM’s Criminal Justice program has been recognized by College Factual among the top 10% of criminal justice programs nationwide and as a Best School for Associate Students to Study Criminal Justice and Corrections. The program has also received recognition from Best Accredited Colleges and Niche.
