Overview of the Department
We look forward to preparing you for what can be a rewarding, challenging, and very interesting career in criminal justice! As a Criminal Justice, Legal Studies and Fire Science Major at CCM (an Associate in Science), we will prepare you both academically and professionally to enter the criminal justice field. Our professors, both adjunct and full time, have extensive experience in the field; many of our adjuncts are current practitioners. The full time faculty are retired criminal justice practitioners with many years of experience in a variety of different areas of law enforcement. It is the goal of the department to provide you with the academic preparation necessary to enter the field; we rely heavily on our experience to demonstrate the applicability of the material to the real world of law enforcement and the criminal justice system. Further, our investment does not stop there; we regularly assist students in the application process for a wide variety of agencies, providing guidance during the process of applying and gaining employment.
