Data Privacy Session Offered by Information Technologies
The Department of Information Technologies at County College of Morris (CCM) will be holding a drop-in session “What Is Your Data Safety I.Q.,” covering how to safeguard your personal data, on Thursday, January 25.
The session, which is free and open to the public, takes place at 12:30 p.m. in the CCM Center for Cyber Security, Emeriti Hall, Room 217, on the college’s Randolph campus, 214 Center Grove Road. The session is being held in celebration of Data Privacy Day. CCM is a Data Privacy Day Champion.
Session attendees will learn through a series of interactive stations tips, tools, and techniques to respect privacy, safeguard data and enable trust.
This session is part of the “Stop. Think. Connect.” StaySafeOnline.org campaign, a national public awareness effort to convey that cyber security is a shared responsibility and each person has a part in keeping the Internet safe. As part of that effort, the Center for Cyber Security in the Department of Information Technologies at CCM is hosting this event to help educate students, faculty, staff and the public on data privacy issues.
CCM is serving as a leader in cyber security education in New Jersey and is the only community college in the state to be designated by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.
