CCM CLEP Registration Form

Taking the CLEP at County College of Morris

Note: This information is also available at https://clep.collegeboard.org/exam-day-info. It has been slightly modified to adapt to the CLEP testing requirements at the County College of Morris Testing Center.

Before Exam Day

Step 1: Create a College Board Account through the My Account Registration portal to do the following… (This is available through https://clep.collegeboard.org/started)

  • Register for a CLEP exam 24/7. Registering for an exam provides you with a payment receipt and a Ticket ID.
  • Manage your personal accounts at any time prior to taking the exam.
  • Search for test centers and select your score recipient institution.
  • Purchase study materials.
  • Print two copies of your CLEP Exam Registration Ticket. (One copy is for the Testing Center and the other copy is for your record).
  • Please note that if you are retaking a specific CLEP exam; there is a waiting period of three months after the initial testing date to retake the same CLEP exam title (It is a six month waiting period if the initial test was taken prior to October 17, 2014).

Step 2:
Become familiar with the exams

  • Exam timing and subsections: Read the exam description to learn how much time is allowed for the test and whether there are timed subsections.
  • Optional essay: The American Literature, Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, College Composition Modular, and English Literature exams have optional essays that may be required by some colleges and universities. These essays are scored by faculty at the colleges and universities that require them. If you are taking any of the above exams and have questions about whether you need to take the optional essay, you must contact the institution that will receive your scores.
  • In additional to the four CLEP exams above, there are also additional required essays (if you want CCM to be the recipient of your scores) if you are taking the CLEP exam for American Government, Introductory Sociology, History of the United States I and II, and Western Civilization I and II.
  • If you pass the CLEP exam and an optional essay is required, you must pay a separate $10 fee payable to the County College of Morris for processing the essay.
  • Graphing and Scientific Calculators: Graphing calculators are used in the Calculus and Precalculus examinations. Scientific (non-graphing) calculators are used in the Chemistry, College Algebra, and College Mathematics examinations. You are expected to know how and when to make appropriate use of the calculator (available within these exams).

Step 3:
Check with the Testing Center’s website for test date/time information.

  • After you register for an exam through My Account, it is important that you contact the County College Testing Center to verify test dates/times to test. Our phone # is (973) 328-5166.
  • At the Testing Center website, print out and complete the CLEP Registration Form.
  • Bring in person or mail the copy of your CLEP Exam Registration Ticket, the completed CLEP Registration Form and a $25 non-refundable administration fee (cash, check or money order) made payable to the County College of Morris. These three items must be received by the County College of Morris Testing Center prior to the scheduled test date/time. NO WALK-INS.
