Bridges to Baccalaureate Students Attend 11th Annual GS-LSAMP/NNJ-B2B STEM Research Conference at Rutgers New Brunswick
Friday October 11th, 2019 26 members of the CCM community attended a STEM research conference at Rutgers New Brunswick as part of the CCM Bridges to Baccalaureate NSF grant program. CCM Biology major Andrea Serrano Trujillo presented a poster of her NSF/B2B funded summer research. The keynote speaker, Dr. Esmeralda Ramirez-Pena of the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health, gave an inspirational talk about her journey from Mexico as a child to her successful completion of both a Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences and a Master’s in Public Health. Students were able to participate in both Bachelors and Graduate school information fairs. Accompanying the students were Dr. Teresa Birrer (CCM B2B Site Coordinator), Dr. Jason Hudzik, Dr. Dena Restaino and Bridges to Baccalaureate Student Support Coordinator Bonnie Ayers.
