NJBIZ Presents Award for Service to the College and Community
County College of Morris (CCM) is proud to announce that its Executive Vice President of Business & Finance, Karen VanDerhoof, is being recognized as a 2023 Leader in Finance by NJBIZ.
The NJBIZ awards program celebrates New Jersey’s financial executives who contribute to the success of their organizations as well as their community. NJBIZ plans to formally recognize all honorees during an in-person awards ceremony on April 25.
“We’re delighted that Karen is being recognized by such a prestigious group for her expansive contributions to the college and greater community,” said Dr. Anthony J. Iacono, president of CCM. “County College of Morris is consistently recognized on the state and national levels for its fiscal stability, transparency, accuracy in reporting and strategic thinking due to the service of Karen.”
Recognitions presented to the college under VanDerhoof’s tenure include the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 17 consecutive years from the Government Finance Officers of the United States and Canada.
At the college, VanDerhoof has managed over $107 million in major renovations and expansions; implementation of uniform contract management procedures; improved fiscal management through internal audits, compliance policies and revised investment practices; and careful budget forecasting resulting in fiscal stability regardless of funding cuts.
She shares her expertise with the educational community through participation in the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, the New Jersey Community College Business Officers Association, the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers and the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO). That her expertise is highly valued is evident from the lead appointments she has accepted within these organizations and awards she has received including the NACUBO Distinguished Business Officer Award and the National Association for Women in Community Colleges Leadership Award.
At CCM, Vanderhoof was most recently honored for 30 years of service to the college.
