Bomb Squad, Canine, Crime Scene and Motorcycle Units Will All be on Display

Come explore a wide range of career options at the County College of Morris (CCM) Criminal Justice Day, which will feature presentations and demonstrations from numerous units related to law enforcement and public safety.
The day, which is open to all age groups including high school students and adults looking for new careers, takes place Monday, May 16. The event starts at 9 a.m. and ends at noon and guests are welcome to come any time during those hours. There is no cost to attend. Space is limited, however, so early registration is strongly encouraged. To register, go to www.ccm.edu/criminal-justice-day-registration/. Weather permitting, the event will take place outside the Student Community Center on CCM’s campus at 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph. Should the event need to move indoors, participants should first go to the Student Community Center.
“Our goal is to show participants the wide range of opportunities and fascinating careers that are available to those who pursue a degree in criminal justice,” says Dr. Maureen Kazaba, professor of criminal justice and program organizer.
Those attending Criminal Justice Day will get to view police equipment, see demonstrations and hear presenters from the:
- Morris County Sheriff’s Canine, Bomb Unit, Crime Scene Units, and Hope One
- Madison Police Department Emergency Services Unit
- Denville Police Department Ice Rescue
- Hanover Motorcycle Unit
- Morris County Office of Emergency Management Drones and Mobile Command Center
The Criminal Justice Program at CCM is highly respected both within Morris County and the nation, being rated the #9 Best Associate Degree in Criminal Justice in the country by Best Accredited Colleges. Those who earn their associate degree from CCM are prepared to transfer to earn a bachelor’s degree or to enter the workforce as police or correction officers, legal assistants, case managers, security officers and other entry level positions. Easing the process to earn a bachelor’s degree, CCM holds transfer agreements with Rutgers-Newark with classes given on CCM’s campus, Fairleigh Dickinson University, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Montclair State University, West Virginia University and William Paterson.
CCM will waive its $30 application fee for anyone who applies to the college during Criminal Justice Day.
