Path To Enrollment For New Students

County College of Morris (CCM) is excited to have you join our college community and to help you enroll in courses and start right. Below is a guide to help your prepare for your first semester.  The information will focus on financial planning, placement testing, career exploration and advisement and registration.

Financial Planning

We recommend that you start planning how you will pay for college as soon as you have applied.  Financial aid from the state of NJ and the federal government is an option for most students. Students are encouraged to apply for aid as soon as possible as it may take anywhere from four to six weeks for your application to be processed. To be successful in college you should have a better understanding of your financial health.  Your parent/guardian is encouraged to work alongside of your when completing your financial plan.

Placement Testing

Most new and some transfer students will need to take the college’s placement test.  Placement tests are used to determine whether a student is ready to take college level courses that have a strong writing and mathematics skills.

Career Exploration

CCM offers several on-line tools that will provide you with greater insight to connecting a major with a career.  Even if you have chosen a major, you are encouraged to complete a career interest inventory.

New Student Advisement and Registration (NSAR)

Once you have met the college’s admission requirements you will receive notification by email informing you of the steps to take for advisement and registration.  All new degree seeking students are required to attend a New Student Advisement and Registration session.  The NSAR provides you with an opportunity to meet with a faculty advisor to learn more about your chosen program of study as well as to select first semester courses.

PREPARING for your NSAR is key.  Download the NSAR Preparation Checklist information on how to search and register for classes using Titans Direct/Student Planning and how to access your account. You are encouraged to view the video tutorial and/or written instructions!
