ADMISSIONS PROCESS

The following is a step-by-step description that all degree-seeking applicants must go through in order to attend CCM. The process for students not seeking a degree, including visiting Summer & Winterim students, can be found here.

 

New Student Enrollment Process

  1. Complete your Admissions application online, mail it in, or bring it to the CCM Admissions office.
    • Required items:
      • Final Official High School transcript, copy of GED or Home School Verification, which can be obtained from the Admissions office in the Student Community Center
      • Official college transcripts – if you attended another college and wish to transfer credit
      • SAT, ACT, or PARCC scores – this is optional but could be used to exempt you from placement testing if you meet the following score requirements:
        • New SAT:
          • 590 in Evidence-based Reading and Writing
          • 560 in Math**
        • Old SAT:
          • 540 in Critical Reading
          • 530 in Math**
        • ACT:
          • 23 in English
          • 23 Math**
        • PARCC:
          • 4 or 5 in 11th English Language Arts (ELA)
          • 4 or 5 in Algebra 2**
    • For a List of placement testing exemptions, visit ccm.edu/admissions/placementTesting
      • **All Students who are exempt from the Math section of the placement test should sit for CCM’s College Level Math (CLM) exam. The CLM exam will allow the student to test directly into college-level Pre-Calculus or Calculus without having college algebra and/or college level pre-calculus courses. .  Students who apply for STEM programs and are exempt from the Math section of the placement test are required to take the  CLM exam.
  2. Receive your Acceptance email and letter
  3. Apply for Financial Aid – Information about our Financial Aid process can be found here.
  4. Take you Placement Test – If needed.  More information can be found here.
  5. Attend a New Student Advising and Registration day – be sure to check your email for your invitation
  6. Join us for New Student Orientation
  7. Start your classes!
