Flexible Spending Program
The flexible spending program enables you to redirect a portion of your salary to provide reimbursement for 2 specific types of expenses: dependent care (DDC) and unreimbursed medical (URM).Â Redirecting part of your salary into a flexible spending account means that your taxable income will be calculated after the elected amounts for dependent care and/or unreimbursed medical expenses are deducted from your salary.Â You will not have to pay federal income tax or social security tax on the elected amounts.
