Welcome to the Public Speaking Center!
The Public Speaking Center (previously known as the Speech Lab) is located on the second floor of the Learning Resource Center (LRC). Tutoring is conducted by full-time faculty tutors who have more than forty years of combined experience in higher education!
Our tutors can support all phases of the public speaking process: Topic selection, gathering credible research, outlining / organizing ideas, developing effective visual aids, and providing a supportive environment in which students can practice and hone their nonverbal delivery skills.
All students can benefit — no matter what class or real-life event they’re preparing a presentation for, our tutors can offer expert advice on how to manage nerves and how to most effectively present information to their audience.
Tutoring appointments are in 20-minute increments. Students are permitted to make up to two tutoring appointments a day (back-to-back are allowed), and up to three appointments each week.
If you wish to schedule an in-person or virtual one-on-one tutoring appointment, visit TutorTrac. Students can also use the general Tutoring Center area for self-study or access computers to do their work.
Any questions, call 973-328-5367, email tutorcenter@ccm.edu, or stop by the LRC.
