Curriculum
Instructors guide students from basic knowledge to advanced through a series of sequential classes. Students can choose to start at the beginning or join a higher level class if they have the prerequisite experience. For Excel certification preparation, instructors follow the GMetrix guide to prepare students to sit for the MO-200 Excel exam. Students continue to use GMetrix for practice, and when they reach expected benchmarks of speed and accuracy, they are prepared to take the certification exam.

Many of our Microsoft courses are at no cost to employees of New Jersey non-governmental businesses, thanks to a grant from the Department of Labor. Employers have everything to gain by sending employees for no-cost training, which is usually delivered remotely during working hours, evenings, and even on weekends. Such training improves employee productivity, and an employer’s support of workplace education can boost retention. Employees who wish to keep their skills current and relevant will greatly benefit from these courses.
The Excel Certification Prep course includes an electronic textbook and an exam voucher for the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate (Excel and Excel 2019), MO-200, at CCM’s state-of-the art Testing Center. On the first day of class, students receive a test access code, GMetrix self-study modules, GMetrix timed exam practice sessions, 1 practice exam, the Certification Exam and 1 exam retake. CCM’s Testing Center is located in the Learning Resource Center. This certification does not expire.
Paying for Your Education
Most of our Microsoft Office courses are offered through our Grant-supported training program, funded through the NJ Department of Labor. The grant-supported classes are at no cost to employees of NJ non-governmental businesses. Others who do not qualify for free classes are welcome to register at a fee.
The Excel Certification program has been approved by the NJ Department of Labor for NJ residents who are unemployed or underemployed and wish to receive a training voucher to pay for this program. If you are un/underemployed, click here for information on how to qualify.

Microsoft SharePoint is an online collaboration tool that is prominent for businesses and organizations. Teams: Collaborative Communication in the Workplace
PREREQUISITE: Solid comfort level using a computer and assorted software programs.
This course will be using a live instructor-led video conferencing tool (Zoom on Day 1; Teams on Day 2). The course consists of two live virtual sessions, hands-on exercises and an at-home practice assignment in between sessions. The requirements for your participation are Internet access and a computer/laptop with audio and video/camera.
Microsoft Teams is the pivotal communications app included in Office 365. It maximizes and heightens both group and one-on-one work collaboration. Navigate the interface and features as well as its seamless integration with other Microsoft apps. Learn to create and manage teams, send instant messages, initiate and manage audio and video conferencing, share, edit, and present files in an online meeting, set up scheduled meetings, create impromptu gatherings, share your screen, record meetings using Microsoft Stream, as well as add other program apps and web resources to any of your teams.

Trish Callahan, MBA
Trish has about 30 years of Information Technology experience, including years as a business analyst, project manager and information technology trainer. She has taught email, word processing, SharePoint, Service Now and many other applications. Trish serves as a part-time instructor at County College of Morris where she is teaching courses including SharePoint, Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint. Trish received two undergraduate degrees from the University of Utah and an MBA from Centenary College.
Elissa DeRose Rizzo, MA, MLIS
Elissa has been in the education field for nearly 20 years as a teacher, administrator, specialist, adult education instructor, and curriculum and program developer. She earned her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and a certificate in Educational Assessment from Montclair State University as well as a Master of Library Information Science from Rutgers University. Her focus includes technology training, professional development instruction, instructional support/coaching, program development, curriculum development, research, and Information Literacy.
Lakeisha Garrett, MBA
Lakeisha has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance which includes working in Accounts Payable, Revenue Recognition, Pricing Strategy and Forecasting. She has worked for various companies such as Reckitt Benckiser, Dun & Bradstreet and Quest Diagnostics. Lakeisha serves as a part-time instructor at County College of Morris where she teaches MS Excel. Lakeisha received a BS from Kean University, MBA from New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MS in Accounting from Rutgers Business School.
Emily O’Brien, AS
Emily has over 20 years of experience as an instructor for CCM’s Workforce Development Department providing instruction in various MS Office applications for corporate clients and open enrollment programs. For more than 25 years, she has provided instruction at the adult level in multiple settings and is a sought after trainer and instructor. Emily is skilled in developing, coordinating and implementing training sessions for client needs and delivering technical information to effectively train non-technical audiences. Emily is an alumna of CCM.
Lorie Pezzuti, BA
Lorie has 30 years of Information Technology experience in the telecommunications industry, where she held various positions in systems analysis and design, programming, and data analytics. She has worked with many corporate colleagues to assist in using technology to solve business problems. Lorie earned a BA in Computer Science from Rutgers University. As a CCM Workforce Development instructor, she hopes to share real world industry scenarios as part of the information technology curriculum.
Rreze Zejnullahi-Berisha, MA
Rreze teaches QuickBooks and Excel at CCM, as well as Economics at Montclair State University, Drew University, and CCM. She has many years of experience using statistical methods to analyze data as applied to academic research and is equally experienced in teaching students about data analysis. She holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Eastern Michigan University.
