What You Will Learn
The International Studies Program is for students with career goals in the fields of international affairs, diplomacy, world languages and cultures, teaching, and research, among many other fields. The mission of the International Studies Program at County College of Morris (CCM) is to provide students with the general education course work and global perspective needed to transfer to a similar program at a four-year college.
In addition to general education courses consisting of subjects such as communication, history, humanities, math, science and technology, CCM students in this program are required to take an international studies core that includes 12 credits of a modern language.
The international studies internship offers students the opportunity to integrate meaningful experiential learning into their major by working part-time for an approved agency, organization, or business with a global focus or need. The student will complete the experience under the supervision of an appropriate faculty member in the International Studies program. Alternatively, this course can be used to complete a significant research project.
Curriculum
Our International Studies program includes a 15-credit core with one course in Intercultural Communications course and completion of four courses, one each semester, of a modern language. Currently, the languages to study at CCM include American Sign Language, Arabic, French, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese. Chinese, German, and Russian are offered based on enrollment and student interest.

Students also benefit from small class sizes in many of their courses. The small class sizes allow faculty and students to interact in a seminar-like environment that facilitates and enriches the classroom experience.
