What You Will Learn
The Certificate of Achievement within Digital Media Technology provides a grounding in media technology for individuals who already hold a postsecondary degree and who are interested in a career change or enhancement of current skills. A professional certification can open doors for finding employment or advancing a career in media-related occupations including advertising, broadcasting, marketing, multimedia development, public relations and training.
The 15/16 credit program is a compact collection of courses in media production skills enabling individuals to work effectively in the creative aspects of digital media. The program is flexible so students may concentrate in a particular area of interest or build a broad repertoire of basic production skills.
Curriculum
Our Media Technology program has a maximum of 16 credits including requirements in Multimedia I and Digital Media Production. You may choose to specialize in an area such as animation, electronic music, game design concepts, photography, television production and more, to fulfill an additional nine credits of electives.

The Certificate of Achievement in Media Technology at CCM is designed to provide training in the area of digital technology as it affects the field of media. Students gain an understanding of electronic visual communications, an introduction to computer-based media platforms and basic skills in a variety of media production specialties. The certificate may be earned while pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Digital Media Technology at CCM. Classes may overlap making the completion of the certificate available before or at the same time as the completion of the degree program.

Multimedia I
A computer-based course designed to allow students to explore, discuss, develop, and use multimedia technology. Students engage in issues related to usability, management and distribution. Topics include multimedia development and design, media elements, and emerging hardware and software trends.
Digital Media Production
This course provides students with theory and training in digital content development for digital media productions. Software and hardware training in digital video, audio, animation, and graphics are introduced. In addition, the appropriate use of these areas of content in developing digital media productions and interface design are discussed.
